If a flash drive does not show in Disk Management, Windows may not detect the hardware at all. Start with ports, drivers, and physical checks.

Background and causes

A drive missing from Disk Management is different from one missing only in File Explorer. It may have controller failure, insufficient power, or driver issues.

Use Windows built-in tools

Try another port and PC, check Device Manager for unknown USB devices, uninstall the USB controller entry, restart, and reconnect the drive.
