Change Taskbar Location in Windows 11

Windows 11 changed taskbar behavior. You can easily change icon alignment, but moving the whole taskbar to the top or sides depends on version and supported settings.

Understand the problem

Registry tweaks that move the taskbar may break after updates. For work computers, keep changes simple and reversible.

• Confirm the exact disk, partition, file system, Windows version, boot mode, or sync setting before making changes.

1. Open Settings, Personalization, Taskbar.
2. Expand Taskbar behaviors.
3. Change Taskbar alignment to Left or Center.

Step 1. Connect an external drive or choose a safe network location with enough free space for important Windows 11 files.
