Failed to Enable Backup Service in Qiling Disk Master

This article applies to: all versions of Qiling Disk Master.

Introduction:

When you create a backup, Qiling Disk Master may show the error "Failed to enable backup service. Please retry or reinstall the software and try again..." This usually means the backup service cannot start correctly or the installation path contains an unsupported character.

Causes:

1. The Qiling Disk Master installation path contains a semicolon or another unsupported special character. Reinstall the program to a normal Windows path without a semicolon.

2. ABservice.exe is not running in the background.

Solutions:

1. Reinstall Qiling Disk Master to a new path that does not contain a semicolon or unsupported special characters.

2. If ABservice.exe is not running, manually start it in Windows Services.

• To open Windows Services Manager, press Win+R, type "services.msc", and press Enter.

• If Qiling Disk Master Schedule Service is not running, double-click it and click "Start". Set the startup type to "Automatic".
