Quick Navigation:

Samsung HDDs and SSDs are widely used for Windows systems, games, applications, and important files. When you upgrade to a larger Samsung SSD, replace an old drive, or migrate Windows to another disk, Samsung disk clone software can help copy the whole drive without reinstalling the operating system.

For Samsung SSD migration with recovery partitions, see clone OS and recovery partition to Samsung SSD.

With a reliable clone tool, you can migrate system files, boot partitions, installed programs, settings, and personal data from one Samsung disk to another HDD or SSD.

Part 1: Why clone a Samsung disk?

Cloning a Samsung disk is useful when the current drive is slow, nearly full, aging, or being replaced by a faster SSD. It can also help create a complete copy before hardware changes, system migration, or disk upgrade.

Compared with reinstalling Windows and applications, cloning saves time and keeps the existing computer environment. After cloning, you can boot from the target disk and continue using your files and programs.

Part 2: Best Samsung disk clone software

Qiling Disk Master provides a straightforward way to clone Samsung disks and Samsung SSDs. It can copy the entire disk, including hidden boot partitions and data partitions, so the target disk can work as a replacement for the old one.

You can use it to clone Samsung HDD to SSD, clone Samsung SSD to a larger SSD, migrate Windows to a Samsung SSD, or create a disk copy for data protection.

Part 3: How to clone Samsung disk step by step

Before cloning, connect the target HDD or SSD to your computer and make sure Windows can detect it. If there are important files on the target disk, back them up first because the cloning process may overwrite the destination disk.

  1. Select the source Samsung disk
  2. Install and launch Qiling Disk Master. Choose the clone or drive backup function, then select the Samsung HDD or SSD that you want to clone as the source disk.

After cloning, install the target disk as the boot drive if you cloned a system disk. You can enter BIOS or UEFI settings and set the cloned disk as the first boot device.

Once Windows starts successfully from the cloned disk, check your programs and files. Keep the old Samsung disk unchanged for a while as a backup until you confirm the cloned disk works properly.
