To ensure everything on your computer is protected, choose a backup routine that includes a full backup as a baseline and subsequent incremental backups, which capture only the files changed since the most recent backup.
Using a full backup routine can be the most efficient approach, ensuring you have up-to-date backup versions. However, when it comes to restoring, you'll need to process the most recent full backup as well as every incremental backup made since the last full backup, which can lead to a lengthy and complex restore job.
Qiling Disk Master allows you to merge multiple incremental backups with an initial full backup to create a new full merged backup, simplifying backup image management and restore jobs.
Step 1. Install and launch Qiling Disk Master, go to the Backup Tab, select Advanced, then Merge Images.
Step 2. In the list box, you will find the initial full backup and all incremental backups. Click on one of them and proceed with the next step.
Step 3. In this window, you can name the merged image, choose where to save it, and decide whether to create a task, then click "Proceed" to start the merging process.
Qiling Disk Master will not automatically delete the initial full backup, all versions of incremental backups, and the old backup task during the merging operation. Instead, you can manually delete the unnecessary backup versions after the merging process is complete. This allows for better management of your backups.
